Channel configuration

Learn how to configure channels in Outverse.

Overview

Outverse channels can be figured to have different functionality depending on their use case.

To manage channel functionality, open Channel settings by clicking the the ... button next to the channel name in the left hand sidebar and then clicking Edit channel or by clicking the dropdown next to the channel name in the top bar and then clicking Edit channel .

Once the Edit Channel form is open – navigate to the Advanced tab to configure which features are active within the channel.

Thread solutions

Thread solutions are commonly within customer support channels on Outverse.

If thread solutions are active within a channel, a thread's author or a workspace team member will be able to specify a reply as being the answer to a thread.

To mark a thread as solved, navigate to the reply that you would like to mark as the solution and click the 'Mark as solution' icon.

Once a thread is marked a solved, the solving reply will show at the top of the the thread – and can be clicked to automatically scroll users to the solution.

Thread upvotes

Thread upvotes are commonly used in product feedback channels to enable users to vote on popular feature requests and product feedback ideas.

If thread upvotes are active within a channel, users can add a vote to the thread by clicking the Upvote button in the top right corner of the thread card.

Reply upvotes

Reply upvotes are commonly used in product feedback channels to enable users to upvote helpful answers within support channels.

If thread upvotes are active within a channel, users can add a vote to the reply by clicking the Upvote button in the bottom left corner of the reply card.

Thread labelling

Labels are available within all community channels and can be used to organize, filter and search within forums.

If labels are enabled within a channel, thread authors along with workspace team members will be able to add labels to threads. Read our guide below for more info on label management and attribution.
